Car salesmen are douches 9 times out of 10. Don't walk in there giving them any leeway. "Jerking them around" is what you should be doing.
Not to me, just go in straight forward knowing what you want and whats a scam and usually they will work with you to get a sale.
If you go in not knowing shit of course they are gonna up sell you some dumb shit you dont need. Every place that gets commission will do that. When i worked in cable repair you know how many 90 year olds got up sold 2000 dollar smart tvs by electronic stores when they dont even know what apps are? all of them. Sales is a hard game
If you don't think taking advantage of the old and ignorant or the young and naive just to make a quick buck is messed up then I dunno what to say here. It's the reality of the situation sure, but fuck them. I manage a sales team that get pissed off all day for being jerked around but they are literally ripping people off.
The reality for the consumer is that you'll be in a multi year contract for a car, wasting a hour or two of some dick bag's time is just collateral.
It's the consumers responsibility to be informed.
And if they're not it's completely okay to fuck them, right? Wasting someone's day is way less egregious than fucking someone for years.
If you're going to buy a car which is an investment for years why would you go in ignorant and hasty? The salesmen's job is to sell cars not to educate morons ---
