I think they compartmentalize and or don't pay attention to everything in the news. I refuse to believe that half the country is bad people
What TC is doing is stereotyping. In all situations I all of human history people don't want to understand their enemies and make them out to be monsters but 9 times out 10 both sides are more similar as fellow humans than any differences they have. And if people would realize that, we might have fewer anger and conflict and war
It's like that for everything. People who hold discriminatory views against any type of people have not really interacted with them in any meaningful way. They just sit in their echo chambers spewing hyperbole and demonizing the source of their anger and dislike as much as they possibly can.
