Twist it however you want, statehood won the 2012 poll. And in 2017 it won overwhelmingly. I didn't know low turnout invalidated a vote result.

If it did then I don't see why 2016 can't have a re-do. That result was even more illegitimate than Puerto Rico's; low turnout and the winner didn't even win.


You should look up election rules. The winner did indeed win

And PR voted to become a state. What's the issue here?


Good for them. They aren't one our states so it doesn't really matter.

And theyre still citizens.
