It's perfectly possible for there to be a sexist double standard in tennis and Serena to have done something wrong still. It's not necessarily one or the other.


What do the men and women have to do with each other though? They play totally independently from each other.

So if there is some sort of sexism towards women then they all get that treatment.

If the rules are enforced differently for men and women, there might be a sexist double standard. For example, in the same tournament a woman was hit with a code violation because she took her shirt off for a second (she put it on backwards at the end of a break and just took it off then back on correctly). It's very common for guys to take their shirts off with no consequence. Afterwards, officials acknowledged the double standard and apologized.
