They're employees and from the moment they step on that field they're on the job. They're not "spitting on the flag." Those are some obfuscating levels of stupidity. You know that's a ridiculous hyperbole. They're kneeling. Which if anything, seems more respectful than just standing. And "stand for the national anthem" isn't part of their job.
