That said, police should have tasers or other means of de escalating a situation other than guns.
Most police do carry tasers, pepper spray and batons. It's just that they weren't there to arrest her. They were doing a wellness check. They only shot her because she pulled a weapon on them. And you don't counter what appears to be a gun with a non-lethal weapon. The fail rate on non-lethals is too high.
They had 90 minutes to do something before she even touched a gun. ---
