He bombed a civilian light bulb factory while as a soldier, and then in 1999 condoned the bombing of power plants, water systems, hospitals, and other civilian targets in Yugoslavia. He supported the bombing of a major Iraqi water purification system during the first gulf war, which resulted in countless civilian casualties. He supports unconstitutional infringement on personal liberty. He voted for the patriot act. And the NDAA, which allows for indefinite detention of those suspected of terrorism without ever mandating a trial, is literally named after him. He was a racist. He regularly referred to the Vietnamese as a 'g' word that gamefaqs won't even let me post until the day he died. He compared Iranians to monkeys. He voted against the establishment of Martin Luther King Jr Day. He divorced his first wife after she was in a horrific car accident and left her for a girl eighteen years his junior. But sure, let's call him endearing nicknames like 'maverick' and serve up bullshit platitudes like 'he's a war hero!' and 'he's a fighter and a true American!' He was a racist, self serving, callous, war hawk politician.
