Gust of Wind Dance!

I love that one! But my cousin has problems with it...

A friend of mine liked "Whip Smack".

Fun fact: It's a lot easier to do with Lavitz than with Albert. It's generally slower and the window to input the command was much wider than Albert. Applies to all their shared moves really.
Yes. I once did take the time to learn all of Lavitz's moves before leaving Hellena Prison lol.

I did that on ALL of my playthroughs after the first. That is, max out Gust of Wind Dance w/ Lavitz early on, cause I despised Albert's addition timings.

And I love how all of Rose's addition names are suggestive. The exact tone and way she says "Hard Blade" is forever etched into my mind. :)

The graphics were great for the time, the battle system was pretty neat, and... well, that's pretty much it. I recall the story being unremarkable and, at the time, people were claiming it ripped off FF7 (which I never really bought, but whatever).

Yeah, whoever says that is bs'ing, I've played both and its story is nothing like FF7's.

Anyway, it's one of my all time favorite RPGs. As a kid, my friend and I ragged on it a fair bit for the sillier aspects (like the awful voice acting) and kinda dismissed it as just ok. But I've grown to appreciate it a lot more w/ age.
I used to think the music aside from Dart's theme was mediocre, but it's actually got a great OST, just not quite as good as a FF OST.
Graphics were lovely for the time, yeah.
Battle system was both amazing and one of the worst aspects. I actually didn't complete the game until a replay 8 years after the first playthrough, because I stopped playing for a few weeks in the middle of the last disc, realized I had completely forgotten all the patterns for the final (7 hit) additions and just...didn't want to relearn at that point.

I love the story in the game so much, though. I really didn't see the huge plot twist that Rose is the Black Monster coming. I figured she knew a lot more about it than she let on and that it might be a red herring as far as being positioned as if it's the final boss but I didn't think it'd turn out to be that. I also really like Dart's character growth, how initially he cares about nothing but revenge, but by the time the truth is revealed, he's willing to forgive her so readily.
It's kind of one of my top "D&D DMing fantasies" to find some players wanting to make characters with similar backstories and motivations to Dart and the rest (with Rose's player being in on it w/ me), and seeing if I can recreate the plot of LoD just by changing the names of stuff and pull off the plot twist on the players myself.

"For 11,000 years, there have been no exceptions."
Just imagining building an actual D&D campaign to that line of dialogue gives me chills!
