Removing a sticker cannot void a warranty because the sticker has nothing to do with the function of the device. Just because the side mirror on my car is broken doesn't void the warranty on the transmission.

Just as you wrote, if I replace the mirror with a part from a competitor then the manufacturer can't void the warranty on the transmission. Same goes for me replacing a bad memory chip in my console. Later the GPU dies but the system is still under warranty. The warranty can't be denied because I did my own work or had a 3rd party replace the memory chip. The manufacture doesn't have to warranty the new memory chip but they're still on the hook for the GPU.

If the manufacturer can determine the that the GPU died because of the new memory chip then it's reasonable to think they're not obligated to fix the GPU for free.

The point remains, the warranty cannot be voided by peeling off a plastic sticker because that doesn't affect the function of the device.
