It's great and I will jump on any opportunity to talk Pre-Kelvin Trek.

TNG is phenomenal, but people tend to gloss over the bad episodes a little too much. Voyager has the exact opposite problem, where it had some great moments that people want to forget about it (mostly because it's biggest sin was actually just that it played it safe and refused to use its potential). Deep Space Nine is still my favorite Trek, though. Best characters, best drama, best action, best story archs, best villains, just all around greatness with only really the Ferengi episodes to hold against it (and even some of those were still pretty good).

Oh yeah TNG had plenty of rough patches(Night terrors...ugh.) But its good episodes are so powerful and well acted that it is breath taking.

I really should marathon the series. Its been too long.

I agree. Please don't think I'm saying it's bad, I'm just saying that people should have a sense of humor about some of the dumber Trek stuff, as well. Plus, DS9 had some equally profound moments as well.

"In the Pale Moonlight" is probably one of the darkest episodes of Trek and it actually presents an incredibly complex and two sided view of the issue.
