This is also a very valid point. I have always considered reproduction to be very ethically questionable. A child is unable to consent to birth, and by being brought into this existence, you are guaranteeing they will experience pain at some point. Creating life means that you are creating the capacity for suffering.


Yeah, I've never read a convincing counterargument to antinatalism. It's difficult to maintain that overall pleasure tends to outweigh overall suffering in one's life, and once you've relinquished that ground, once you've admitted that suffering forms the greater part of the equation, it's easy to see that reproduction is in almost all cases morally unjustifiable.

Where have you been all my life? Refreshing to see someone who gets it.
