There is a lot of overlap here; most American conservatives are Trump supporters, meaning at the very least they're willing to look past the ways in which his administration's agenda is that of a nationalist, which is why the alt-right generally likes him. Even the performatively anti-Trump Republicans of Congress are unwilling to challenge him on the vast majority of meaningful actions he takes. I would say that I don't think people like John McCain or Marco Rubio are alt-right; they're conservatives. They still suck, but for different ideological reasons. For the most part they don't really push the line of open nationalism/xenophobia/racism, in the way the alt-right does. --- kin to all that throbs ... Copied to Clipboard! |
