It should also be noted that beating the thief to death was probably a bit extreme for a petty crime. Take your wallet back and then a good ass beating probably would have taught him a lesson. Now if it was armed robbery, that would be different. The thief would have murderous intent if you did not comply. If that were the case, killing him would have been more understandable. Did the theif have a history of stealing, or was this a one time thing?
