Make sure you're always carrying a few Doctor's Bags and hoard whatever Hydra you can find. Honest Hearts and Old World Blues provide some much better ways of dealing with limb damage, and you can also take the Adamantium Skeleton perk later, depending on how much trouble you're having with it. At least you didn't pick the Four Eyes trait.
