As long as he's suave, I'd welcome him. I hope he sticks around for at least three films.

The only film I liked Daniel Craig in was Skyfall. These were good movies (Quantum of Solace and SPECTRE aside), but they went against the underlining appeal of the 007 franchise. Simply put, it's a playboy fantasy. You wish you were the guy who won at cards, romanced the ladies, and beat the bad guys. A gritty antihero with a perpetual chip on his shoulder would've been ideal for The Punisher. In the case of that series, that is the underlining appeal. In the case of Bond, it's at odds with why the series became popular in the first place.

I hope they get a new writer. They've had the same guy since The World is Not Enough and he's always, even in the Pierce Brosnan era, tried to move Bond into darker territories. He's not a bad writer. He's just in the wrong series.

So, yeah, if Edris Elba can help the series get back to being what it needs to be, then I more than welcome him as the next 007.
