I disagree. A democracy needs informed debate, and social media are an essential part of the debate in the modern world. Allowing corporations to ban people or content essentially allows them to control the national debate, which is a terrible state dor freedom of debate, especially when there are only a handful of large social media companies which have aligned interests.
