Remember in space jam that cartoon part where Michael Jordan would be trapped losing games of basketball at the fair forever? That's every talk show host, besides Conan with Trump jokes. Keeps making stale punchlines and the only people laughing are being told to by a neon sign in front of them.
I guess they need the laugh now signs because not even pity laughs would register on the microphones in the studio.
