I don't think there's a singular reason as to why this pairing is more common, probably a lot of different factors at play, as some have been mentioned in this topic. I've been learning Chinese and I met her along the way. Very sweet girl. Wouldn't call her submissive, she's pretty independent, but she puts others before herself often times. Didn't learn Chinese for the girls, but it's more of a bonus I guess. But they're women too. You'll encounter sweet ones and you'll encounter mean ones.
