Ultimately somebody stole the land from the native citizens and enforced the premise of buying land and ownership of it. Just because it was legal by the invader's policies doesn't make it acceptable.

Yeah but once some time goes by, its different than if someone stole your car since you're not even dealing with the original people involved and it just becomes iffy. No matter what you do, there's not gonna be a solution that's 100% fair since both parties at this point are (probably?) innocent of whatever happened before. Hell, a lot of us probably live on land that was stolen from Native Americans, but its not our faults that it was stolen.
