Doesn't all life technically have one common ancestor?

How did life start to begin with?

IIRC from the last documentary and some books I've read on the subject, complex life 'began' next to some heated vents on the ocean floor and over millions and millions of years of evolution we are where we are today.

That single 'lifeform' that we all descend from is known as LUCA, Last Universal Common Ancestor.

I think that concept and given name is beautiful.
