Who said that greatness is correlated with income equality?

Income inequality on that scale means a poorer quality of life for a large number of people. Quality of life is a pretty big metric for how great a country is, don't you think?

Only to an extent.

It's a sign of how much the West has absorbed empty bourgeois values that we think a country's greatness is determined by whether you have $2000 more dollars in your bank account or if your people live 3 years longer on average.

Should we assume that there's some deep logic in there that you'll be willing to explain further or is it safer to assume that you have poor mental health?

It's quite simple point actually. Judging the value of your life and the greatness of your country the amount of bourgeios comforts available to you, is a poor metric of greatness.

I'm sure Jesus, Caesar, or Einstein had great lives based on their age of death/amount of money in their 401(k). Indeed Rome was a great empire not because of their success in war, law, and the arts that have influenced billions but because their indoor plumbing improved sanitation. /s
