Anyway comments on the last 8 songs which I have things to say about I guess lol. (I missed more than that but I can only listen to so much in a row) Oh wow uh...I actually REALLY like Upstairs. Really cool atmospheric track. I like how there's this vague sense of tension and mystery that hangs throughout the song. I agree it doesn't take a particularly active role but I don't think it needs to for what it's going for (sort of a running theme with my comments here actually...). I also like the variety of different instruments the song uses. Aquaria has always had nice music imo. I'm not as familiar with the OST as I probably should be, but it's got a lot of these really calming and uplifting atmospheric tracks like this one that I really like. Should probably sit down and just listen to all of it. (This would have done a lot better on my list, probably) I really like End of Regret (obviously), but I can kind of see where you're coming from. There's a reason I've never tried to nominate this song for VGMC. (Well at least I don't think I have anyway--if I did it was with an attitude of "screw this I don't care what anyone else thinks I'm just nomming what I like") But yeah it really for me evokes that emotion of standing up in the face of overwhelming sorrow, which is basically what the second half of the VN is about. I think one thing about it also is that for me specifically I don't mind VN songs being repetitive so much. As long as they're able to sit there in the background and make me feel a certain feeling than that's what they're really supposed to do, and if they're good at that than I'm going to like them a lot. Beatdown! is a fun song. Possibly a bit too frantic to enter into my top tier but I do still get some nice positive vibes from it.
