That said, I did finish Bakemonogatari Volume 1. Nothing too elaborate, but it's pretty interesting that the writing style in this is pretty much the opposite of the no-nonsense Juuni Taisen. It's full of rambles, but they don't really feel drawn-out because of how they're written. Well, I guess this is Nisio's "usual" writing style, being an older, longer series and all. Also sampled the short story anthology 15cm Between You and Me (Amazon JP: https://goo.gl/eqdYR3). The cover and title makes it seem like romance, but the first story (covered fully in the Amazon sample) turns out to be some mind-screw mystery. Pretty cool.
