i don't even have the energy to bring it up any more, it just leads to a huge argument. If I tell them it's not enough, they tell me i'm wrong and that i can look it up online that they are right (they barely even know how to use the internet and just continue to say i'm wrong if i look up/print/email articles for them). if i offer to pay the tip, they call me ungrateful and that whoever pays the bill gets to determine how much is tipped and that if i want to pay the tip i can also pay the bill. if i just add more money they'll take it and pocket it for themselves to "teach me a lesson". I used to sneak around their back, be the last one to leave the table and add to the tip in secret but then they caught me once and now make me leave the restaurant first (that one was a huge fight where we didn't talk for 6 months). and then if i just refuse to go out and eat with them, they'll start crying and call me ungrateful. And no, i can't currently afford to treat them (in the process of making some major business moves).
