Ive worked at and seen more than a few shops lock their customers in, but only until they are ready to leave and only to prevent asshats from clumsily getting in after hours. Many other places wont risk locking the doors because of safety concerns, but theyll station someone at the door or at least have their employees monitor it. This isnt uncommon.
