But yeah, the book clearly portrays Tyler as not the person idolize or worship and pretty explicitly says "Tyler is wrong", where that message tends to get lost in the performances of Pitt and Norton. The fact is the narrator himself is a massive hypocrite. He refuses to accept himself for who he is and the reality of life so he creates his own reality where he can be what he wants to be or what he theorizes is a "real man". It's just all bullshit layered on top of bullshit that ends with the bombs not going off and the narrator ending up in a psyche ward. But more than anything I get pissed about how bastardized the term "snowflake" became as an insult. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
