There are no "gates" blocking progress other than the bad dudes that fuck you up. So if you want to you can go into a higher level cave and survive a few rounds to beef up, and that's entirely a legit strategy. i see. might swing around and complete all of them once I finish off chapter 1 for every character then. i bet there's some nice and tasty loot waiting in there. --- Do good.
