Removing HFCS and limiting saturated fats in your diet along with limiting the amount of empty calories that you get will go a long way.

The hell is an empty Calorie?

Calories ingested that don't come along with vitamins or minerals.

Thats a misleading term that should be eradicated. A calorie is simply a unit of energy, the amount required to raise 1g of water by 1 degree C. We measure food in kcals or Calories with a capital C. I know you didnt ask for the lesson but it just aggravated me slightly

It doesn't need to be eliminated at all. Yes, I know that calories are nutrition, but the point is that your diet should be have sources of micronutrients in it and overall be more efficient on what you ingest.

And I don't need a biochemistry or thermodynamics lesson.

I mean, all the term is saying is, stop drinking soda, stop eating sweets, use less butter and oils and that's it.
