TBQH, it's very hard to get excited about space exploration now. I don't think the general public in most countries gives a fuck one way or the other. I mean, imagine all we could save by taking apart various space agencies. People who work for groups like NASA, and other scientists still love it, and think it's super important, but I'm not sure why. The only thing that is really interesting is perhaps manned exploration, but since we haven't even gotten to Mars yet, which is our fucking next door neighbour, and exploring outside our solar system is probably decades off, it's hard to care.

I mean, gah, there was even a Simpsons episode about this, and that was back in the 90s. Bart and Homer desperately try to change the channel, so they don't have to waste ten seconds of their live watching another space launch. I think that's how people feel in general.
