In general people are only out for themselves. This is human nature sadly. Sometimes people give themselves to others more than themselves but often in the end that ends badly as people will take advantage of it.

I actually used to be like that, I had lots of therapy before I kinda got over that and now have a lot more healthy of a balance. I guess if most people were good it wouldn't matter if someone was too invested in others as people wouldn't abuse it.

I ended up spending many years hating myself because I couldn't do everything that everyone wanted from me when in reality they were the ones letting me down by asking too much of me all the time.
