When it comes to hard solipsism, it is absolutely true that I cannot say with absolute certainty that I am not something inside a computer simulation. I can't prove it, nor can I even really test for it. It's an answer that, as it stands, is completely beyond my grasp.

But, oh well. Because I seem to experience this universe (whatever it is). Likewise, literally everyone around me also appears to experience this same universe. So even if it all is just a huge simulation, it doesn't really matter. All we can do is work with what we have. And we all seem to have a shared understanding that this universe is real. In fact, we need it to be real in order for us to talk about it.

So we assume it's real. It's one of the few necessary and universal presuppositions.
