I grew up with tons of people, men and women, who faced similar threats from their families. I'm lucky in that I live far enough away and essentially cut him out of my life, that it's a non-issue for me. Many people are not that lucky. They're stuck living at home with their folks for various reasons and being beholden to their bigotry. Ugh that's awful. I have a relative that lives in southern Missouri who has had similar issues.
