ScarJo has a ton of star power and her inclusion would have brought significant attention to a movie that wouldn't likely have gotten much otherwise. The result would be a bigger turnout and more people having this issue brought to their attention. Choosing to demand a trans woman for a trans role over AAA star power for a social issue that they would also argue needs far more focus is shooting yourself in the foot a bit.
