Perhaps by not glorifying, justifying, and wishing that we returned to those values. You may be ignorant to the whole "Lost Cause" movement, but that doesn't mean it didn't and doesn't still exist.

I think it's hard to put yourself in their shoes and know what they're thinking. I think, that, in and of itself, is ignorant. I think the majority of people are not looking to move backwards. There's a certain respect they may be giving old leaders that are now historic. Yes, some of them may be ignorant to the feelings that these historical war leaders make others feel. No doubt.

I think most people, in their heart of hearts, truly don't mean anyone any harm.
