Of course it doesn't mean they don't want to hire you, but I've been let down before by people sending overly positive signals. Personally I'd rather just get neutral signals, because getting rejected hurts even more when you actually thought you were going to get the offer. Probably doesn't apply to you though since you're really only just starting to look and haven't been crushed by years of disappointments I'm not really getting my hopes up.
