Unfortunately even that's being too kind to GG opponents.

What really was a turning point for me I think, was TotalBiscuit's death. I'm not even a like, fan of his. I don't especially have a problem with him, just not really actively following him and his videos or whatever.

So, when he died, I heard about it all over the place. No surprise, he's influential. And I was seeing people celebrating his death. And that puzzled me. Looking into it, the reason given was "he was on the wrong side of Gamergate"

What a grim statement. I actually was not aware of his stance exactly on the matter. So I looked into it. What I found was he appeared to be laser-focused entirely on the actual ethics and calling out corruption, and also calling out any abusive/toxic behavior supposedly done in the name of GG in support of it.

This struck me because so often what I see feminists say to demean GG as a whole is: they don't really care about ethics, they just are sexist and want to bully women. There is no legitimacy to them, they are just sexists. Several people on CE in these topics recently has said exactly that. But here's TB, the sort of person that should be welcomed, because he's not only not part of that abusiveness, he's openly opposed to it, and focusing on a legitimate issue. Then he dies of cancer in his 30s and feminists openly celebrate. Including...Jessica Price.

And this is really bad. This is a clear example of acting in bad faith. The narrative is, Gamergate is evil, because it's not actually about legitimate issues, it's about hating women, and because of this "FACT", anyone who is opposed to hating women and cares about legitimate issues brought up by Gamergate is also evil by association. It's a very effective way to demonise a whole group, and then use that to dismiss people in the group who disprove the generalisation because hey, they associate with it. They're on the wrong side of Gamergate.

So, because I realise that Gamergate has a point, and legitimacy, even to this day, there are feminists who think it'd be best if I got cancer and died. There are undoubtedly people on this board, in this very topic probably, who'd prefer it if I, and anyone who agrees with me, died of cancer. Just if I dropped dead right now even, round of applause, world improved.

This is the type of person who wields absolute power on the internet in feminism.

I am snazzier, hot, hot rant. Warily slight as.
