You're unlikely to fill a normal tab with essences or cards so its not necessary to buy those ones. There's definitely a case to be made for map tabs but I don't think its immediately necessary for a new player. also tabs go on sale on the weekends every like 3 weeks so if you wait you can get a deal. --- ...
