Beyond that, a restaurant being busy does not equal "being short-staffed with shitty service", and if it did you'd have found that out by reading reviews before you made any attempt to bring her there, which I'm guessing you didn't do. You're mad, but she sees it for what it is. Sounds like you didn't put any real effort in, you just threw money at her birthday hoping it would be enough. Do better next year. Coulda done this, coulda done that.
