EternalDivide 07/07/18 3:56:48 PM #23: | Our parish, as were many others around here, was combined. Many properties were purchased by the diocese and then lied as to them being "donations" from various groups. This was to get monies off the book that way there would be little to show when the settlement with the Diocese of San Diego which we were once a part of was being reached with some of the molestation cases. None happened directly under our diocese but did once when we were combined and so our diocese had to pay up a part. If all money was in property investment they got to say 'look at us, we're poor, we have nothing to give". As the smaller of two towns that got combined we lost our school, out priest, out services, our office staff and our name. We became the afterthought. The bishop put out a press release to our parish that it was because the parish staff asked him for this "gift". Got caught in that lie because staff and priest were having non of it. Everyone left removed for not falling in line. An old friend of the bishop's (woman) was illegally (in the catholic doctrine) installed as our "pastor" ranking above the priests. Walked up the aisle ahead of the priest every mass. This did not go over well at all nor should it have. Complaints were made to the vatican rep in DC. Money went missing. More services cut. She finally was out but by then our church was essentially gutted. --- FFVII Remake: A disaster in the making. I'll laugh at whatever I find funny whether you like it or not. ...
