The only thing specific to Asians for his reasons is that there are some immigrants that escaped from an authoritarian government. Guess who the fuck is more authoritarian. The Right. I'll tell you why a lot of Asians are against progressives. 1. Traditionalism is huge in Asian culture. New social norms aren't unacceptable a lot of the times. My parents disowned my sister for homosexuality because "it's not normal." Not even a religion reason or anything that conflicts with their beliefs. Family is the most important my ass. Filial piety is just there so parents can have control over their kids. 2. A lot of Asians are racist af. Much more than white people. At least with white people, they have a strong history of overcoming racism so equality is a pillar of the culture and people at least try. A lot of Asians are just plain racist and they really don't give a shit that they are because it's not part of the culture. 3. You guys would love this one.
