So tell me then why does "wearing a hat" warrant assault? If the hat had a swastika on it, would you still frame it as just "wearing a hat?". Not saying that the two things are equal, but to act as if there's no difference between a maga hat and any other hat is just as disengenuous. The hat did not. Did not what? All you're doing is being the lesser person and sending a message to extremists that it's ok to assault someone over something you disagree with or dislike. Stand your ground and tell that person they're awful and take a picture and spread it. But to physically assault someone over it is exactly what someone wearing a hat with a swastika would want.
