More details: he only approached her because (allegedly) someone else asked him to.

A lawyer representing the individual, named in local media as Adam Bloom, said he was merely doing his job as pool chairman and board member for the local homeowner's association.

The attorney, John Vermitsky, told the Winston-Salem Journal that Mr Bloom had approached Ms Edwards because another resident had questioned whether she was a member of the pool.

And the only thing necessary in this situation was:

1) Ask her if she was a member of the community
- Answer: Yes
2) Ask if she has the key card
- Answer: Yes

Asking for ID and calling the police is overzealous at minimum.

He did ask her for her key card. She says in the video she refused to show it to him. When the cops asks if he can see it, she says HE can, at least implying that this guy did exactly what you said and she got indignant and refused.
