Not just because of climate change, but because these behemoths are never as cool as cars. It's an incredibly stupid move. I know they make more money for each one sold versus smaller vehicles, but the combination of increased gas prices and longer term auto loans (plus the allowance of such loans to people who can barely afford them) will blow up in their faces.
