I disagree entirely. There are clearly grey tones in that wood, and purple accents grey beautifully. This red would be a poor choice, in my opinion. The key word you used there is "accent". I feel that a darker purple against the walls themselves will dominate the space, and bring a heavy feeling to a room that should otherwise feel vibrant and welcoming. I'm also taking into consideration the colors of the bed itself, to me the the light airy feeling of the red contrasts well with the darker earthy tones that the bedframe and the headboard bring into the room.
