Men score way higher on figure skating scores than women. Men can do quads and get 1.5x the score of women.
Basically, figure skating is actually a perfect example of the opposite of what you're arguing, incredibly enough! If men and women were scored together, no woman would make the top 10. At the Olympics, to podium as a male, you needed over 305, while as a female, you needed 230.
Oh ok so does that invalidate the other 9 suggestions?
Some of those sports men and women did/do compete together at the Olympics with women still winning.
When sports are created, designed, played, and judged by men for men then yes women won't compete at the highest levels. The game is rigged. They're not supposed to.
We need more sports that don't just look at raw strength. Because we're all smart enough to know that being big and strong isn't what's best for every sport.
This topic could have been done a lot better because there is a question to be asked in general about women just not being prominent in the vast majority of competitions. Even video games is heavily dominated by men to the point that no top female players really exist. At best you get something like professional mediocre players. It begs the question if the lack of women at high levels of skill is more due to a lack of interest than an lack of ability even in non-strength related sports.
Gaming is a whole other thing.
I for one really hated when I got to online gaming and voice chat. People got immediately shitty. Lost track of how often i was told I was going to be raped, had people threaten to stalk and murder me, and now just deal with general clinger creeps every in basic shit like StarCraft.
The attention you get being a woman gaming sucks and I don't blame any women for not wanting to be subject to or participate in gaming culture. Even legit twitch streamers that don't suck at playing get accused of just being attention whores. Women aren't allowed to enjoy gaming publicly without some nasty treatment. Gaming gatekeepers
Not to diminish your negative experience in video games but its kind of terrible for anyone involved. Rape talk wasn't limited to just women. Video game trash talk is a whole new level of depravity really. Which is basically to say that we all experienced pretty terrible trash talking but it didn't stop plenty of men from playing anyway. ---
