So it goes mother fucking Nigeria then the United States.... Really CNN? REALLY?

Why are you blaming CNN for this?

I'll agree that this looks a bit weird, especially when they outright say that a big reason the US climbed is because of all the reports of sexual misconduct following #metoo. It should surprise no one that that misconduct was there all along, and more importantly you'd have to be seriously tunnel-visioned to believe that these kinds of structures are somehow more prevalent in the US than elsewhere.

Now, of course there could be other things to look at and measure. Comparisons like these are never straightforward, because you have to find a proper weighting of different factors. How much weight do you put on things like legislation and public structures, like maternity leave, access to abortion, etc., compared to statistics of crime happening? How to define "dangerous" will always be tricky and contentious, and the results won't ever be very accurate considering there's so much crime and shit going on that doesn't get reported. The #metoo thing is a good example of just that.

Anyway I would expect the US to end up higher on the list than people here would be comfortable with, but 10th place because #metoo revealed some unreported sexual abuse? No way.
