I was eating cup noodles and i remember the history of cup noodles and instant noodle in general that i watched some months ago. Basically post ww2 japan was poor and in desperate need of easy, filling food that last a long time, and an industrious person rose and decided on making instant ramen that can be easily distributed, cheap, reliable and non perish or expire easily. He set on inventing the method on drying the noodle and tinkering with the taste until the instant noodle finally born, solving the immediate food crisis in japan, and become the best friend of every college students since its invention.

Without ww2 and the atom bomb, japan wouldnt go trough crisis that drive them despairing over reliable supply of food and thus the guy wjo invented it probably will just work on other thing, resulting in at least, delaying the invention of instant noodle or even resulted in a timeline where instant noodle never existed.
