Happened to me, i spent a year total in various psych wards because i wouldn't fake being allright, i actually wanted to get better. Some of the people you meet in there are all right, but it is a very traumatic experience for most people. what? that's not true at all and your experience is not the norm. there is no "conforming" and if that happened to you you should have asked to be transferred to a different facility. they will only continue to hold you if you're a danger to yourself or others or you are consistently suicidal. if not they'll assess you, diagnose you, get you started on medication, develop a treatment plan and help you find a team of doctors on the outside to help you with your long term care and then release you. --- https://imgur.com/4ihiyS2 "I am not gay!
