| Topic | Can we talk about gun control yet? |
| DarthGravid 07/01/18 1:25:46 AM #9: | I'm liberal, leftist, whatever, and a gun owner. I don't want to give up mine, or take anyone else's. More (and deeper) background checks look good on paper, but aren't really doing much good so far. Taking away guns altogether is a terrible idea, and would result in tremendous backlash. Arming everyone is not a good idea either, as some are simply not capable of handling the responsibility of gun ownership. I teach my children that guns are dangerous, and should be treated as such. I keep them locked away, and all but two (for home defense) are disabled at any given time (firing pin removed or disassembled completely). When they reach an age AND level of maturity that they can fully understand that, and that it is a matter of life and death, they are taught safety and responsibility under strict supervision. I wish that there was an easy solution, but there isn't. That's why so many drift toward extreme views on this matter. --- Torn between two minds. Is either correct? Perhaps together.....but how? Can it be done? ... Copied to Clipboard! |
