My second viewing of Homecoming cemented for me just how bad of a person their version of Peter Parker turned out to be.

Don't get me wrong. He's a quippy, nerdy teenager juggling life at home, while being a super hero. That's all good, and a better balance than what was showing during the Raimi trilogy or the Amazing series. But it's its like they took 2 steps forward and 5 steps back!

This depiction of Peter Parker is manipulative, naive, neglectful and dangerously reckless! I understand he isn't an adult just yet, and superhero-ing is hard. But they went waaay overboard depicting the struggle!

First of all, who the hell in their right mind would rip an entire treehouse out of a tree and bring it down in the yard?! What if kids were inside for a sleepover?! We literally just saw kids in the previous yard, staying in a tent in their backyard! Besides that, there were a lot of broken fences, the sandwich shop, and obviously the ferry. I get that it's in order to show he's over his head. And Tony definitely addresses the issue. But it's Peter's almost complete disregard for everything he's done that's so glaringly stupid! He's almost 18! He's a freaking super genius, aspiring to be an Avenger, and has the other responsibilities of a regular teenager. And his response to everything he destroys amounts to "Lol oops my bad but I'm still the good guy." Are you kidding me?!

How about the way he treats his aunt? Scaring her with his lack of presence, repeatedly placing himself in dangerous situations without calling, then having the nerve to get her to drop whatever she's doing to help him?

"Aunt May I'm going to my Homecoming! Dress me up, chop chop!"

"Aunt May drive me to the party!"

We never see him do chores. We never see him do anything nice for her in either this or Civil war. She's a single guardian who presumably lost her husband recently! And Peter treats her like his personal slave.

The last thing I'll bring up is his underhanded manipulation of his supposed "best friend" Ned. All through the movie, Ned does just about anything Peter asks him, and is an all-around bro. So what the hell is up with the whole:

"Come on, Ned, hack into this suit, even though it's obviously wrong and ends up almost killing people! You'll be the guy in the chair. All Ned wants to do is hang out with Peter, and help him. But Peter uses him thr entire time, and does nothing for him in return! What a truck load of garbage!

I think I might be turning into JJ. Homecoming's Spider-Man is a menace! And a complete disservice to the character.
